For nearly two decades, Google has been the most popular search engine with little competition. However, in November 2022, it faced a new challenger: OpenAI's experimental chatbot, named ChatGPT, which disrupted the future of the artificial intelligence industry.
OpenAI's chatbot gained over a million users in less than a week thanks to its reliable responses to user requests! Its release immediately worried Google, as Microsoft had taken a lead by integrating ChatGPT into Bing, and soon even into its Office suite.
In February 2023, the tech giant retaliated and pressed the accelerator by launching its own AI chatbot, Google Bard, to show the world that it could compete with this new competition.
Google Bard, an experimental AI-powered chatbot, is the latest in the field of virtual assistants. It is designed to respond to a variety of queries using online information to provide fresh and relevant answers. Although Google has not yet made Google Bard available, it is likely to be integrated into Google Search and accessible via Google's search bar.
Unlike ChatGPT, Google Bard will be connected to the web and thus able to analyze the most recent data: a new advancement in the development of conversational AI-based chatbots.
At the time where we write these lines, to use Google Bard, it is necessary to be selected among the beta testers handpicked. Once chosen, just open Google, click on the icon of the chatbot and enter your request. The conversation can then begin, and you can ask your questions. Note that Google now no longer takes requests to join the group of beta tests.
Patience, the American firm should proceed to a launch wider in the weeks and months to come, but no precise agenda has been announced.
Although chatbots cannot hold conversations as humans, they often manage to give the illusion by generating a wide variety of texts digital that can be adapted to almost all contexts. The chatbot of Google seeks to achieve this objective with almost all the topics that are submitted to it.
There are numerous use cases since the main goal of Bard is to simplify the lives of its users:

Google has a long history of using AI to enhance the search experience for billions of people. In 2023, the latest AI technologies are developing brand new ways to interact with information, whether it be language, images, video, or audio.
Both solutions aim to revolutionize the way we search the web. They are designed to provide detailed, natural, and relevant responses to each query, which means that the classic links displayed in search results would no longer be necessary.
Faced with Microsoft, Google finds itself in the position of a follower. This has forced it to unveil products that are not yet fully finalized.
To remain competitive, the tech giant wants to move fast and make mistakes. During the first public presentation of the AI, Bard incorrectly answered the question "What discoveries from the James Webb Space Telescope can I talk to my 9-year-old about?"
In response to this error, Google spokesperson Jane Park stated that the company plans to launch a new tool to increase the reliability of information in the future. Called "Trusted Tester," this feature should merge external user feedback with that already formulated internally by the project's developers.
What effects will Google Bard and ChatGPT have on the SEO ranking of websites? Could Google's dominance in the tech field be challenged? What professions will disappear, appear, or be radically transformed due to these advances? Many changes to closely follow in 2023.
